So I Was Trying To Think Of Something

July 31, 2007 at 8:25 pm (personal)

So I was trying to think of something(deja vu, eh?) to write about and I’m all out of ideas. Life is boring, music is repetitive and well besides from my sister’s surgey I haven’t been thinking about much.

I was trying to comment on http://intokuwait.blogspot.com/ but I am under the impression that i’m an idiot now. LOL not sure if I got through but trying to leave a message reminded me of the electrifying hamster experiment. I was getting shocked but by god I would figure it out somehow.

There was a really funny post on the Queen taking over America and I must admit it made me chuckle. I loved it and well if you by somehow can’t take a joke then bite me. It was funny!!!

I was watching the news last week and saw that Iran is making a new video game that has them trying to rescue nuclear scientists from Americans. The news was making a huge fuss over it and crying foul. I was sitting there the whole time thinking I would love to play that game….. why? well why not?

1. We make games about killing people all the time why can’t someone else make a different version.

2. It would be interesting to see the other person’s point of view.

The problem with some people is that being patriotic means the absolute ignorance of other cultures and the ability to take things way to seriously.

BTW: I’d also like to move to Japan. Asian women are HOT!!!!!!! Oh and Japan just seems cool.

Gastric Bypass

July 31, 2007 at 8:02 pm (personal)

My sister underwent gastric bypass surgery this morning and after a minor complication everything went well. I must admit that I was a wreck most of this morning because after losing my Dad when I was 15 I really haven’t got many family members left. They come in short supply you know.

But being serious… I love my family more than anything and just not knowing what is going on for three hours kills you in ways you don’t understand.

Cal Ripken

July 29, 2007 at 3:19 am (sports)

Tomorrow Cal Ripken, Jr. will be inducted into the baseball hall of fame.

Cal was an unselfish baseball player who gave back to his fans. He made sure to sign every autograph and I think the best memory I have of him is when he paid a visit to a camp I was attending. He was really personal and seemed to actually enjoy being around us. It wasn’t just a photo-op to him. Cal was a great player and even better and amazing person….

Also another amazing person joins him tomorrow and that is Tony Gwynn. This year is all about the class acts of baseball.

Step Two

Religion

Religion is a touchy subject for many people. It has been a building block for many cultures and a catalyst for many conflicts. There is no way to count the number of lives that have been lost through persecution and war. The idea that any one religion is more important than another and that somehow justifies murder has turned me off of organized religion.

Before I continue I will discuss something about myself.

I am considered Catholic because that is what my parents told me and I was too young to remember different. I haven’t been to church since I was twelve and I only went back then because they gave away scooters and candy. When I was five I was thrown in a dark closet because I coughed too loudly in church. My fondest memory of church was when I went with my friend and his family to a predominately African American congregation. I was one of only two caucasions there but the experience was amazing. They truly celebrated their beliefs and I was never treated differently. I loved the experience and found it very rewarding.

That being said I am against organized religion. That doesn’t mean I am an atheist or that I am prejudice against anyone because of their beliefs. Being against organized religion doesn’t mean I turn my back or discredit anyone who has a strong conviction. I admire people for who they are and will not judge them because my belief system is different from theirs. I am turned off to organized religion because the truth is I see it as a major source of conflict.

Group A doesn’t like how Group B thinks and therefore Group A believes that it is okay to persecute Group B. Group A and Group B can represent just about any religion because the truth is at one time each group has persecuted another because they didn’t agree with them.

The biggest problem is Fanatics. I can’t stand anyone who hurts another human being because they have a different view of life.

One of my best friends is Muslim. He was born in Bosnia and had to live through the unlawful ethnic cleansing by Serbian forces. I can’t imagine what his family has gone through. I have heard some of the stories and when I think about it I get a sinking feeling. I love his mother as she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I try to put myself in their shoes and I can’t. I am truly glad I have met him and his family because theirs is the greatest story of courage.

I must admit I was ignorant about how to interact with him at first. I blame it on my lack of knowledge in other cultures when I was younger. What I found out is he is exactly like me. We love women, movies, sports, women, sports, movies and did I mention women! We have the same sense of humor. We watch the same movies. We enjoy most of the same activities. He got into cagefighting but I hate getting hit so all I can do is root for him. He is like a brother to me and I would fight for him just as much as I would fight for anyone else in my family. I know he would do the same for me.

And whereas i’m not sure I said what I wanted to I said it and put it out there. I don’t think we should hate others because they are different. Race, religion and sexual orientation should never play a role in how you treat others.

Disclaimer: This topic is open for debate but please do not flame another religion or spew hatred about another person unless they are a scientologist but those guys are just weird.

Lindsay Lohan Hostage Crisis

July 28, 2007 at 1:33 am (NeAtO)

This is getting too good to be true. Only thing that would make this better is if she was holed up inside a shed with an alcoholic bottle in one hand and a shotgun in another screaming “You Ain’t Taking Me Alive Mother @#$@ers!.”

I actually found a picture of the Lindsay Lohan hostage crisis…. This is pretty shocking..

lindsaymontana1.jpg

What is really shocking is how horrible that is lol. I did that on paint hehe. I really need to get a copy of Photoshop!!

Things I Would Like To Know More About

July 27, 2007 at 7:31 pm (Politics)

Breaking News: I don’t know everything! I know you are shocked. Well so am I. My plans of global domination have been thwarted… at least until I find the answers I am seeking.

Iraqi Civilian Death Count: The news likes to shower us with the number of American soldiers killed but neglects the number of women and children in Iraq. Don’t get me wrong I believe that our soldiers’ lives are valuable but I am also concerned about the innocent civilians that are dying.

Average Age of American Soldiers Killed In Afghan/Iraq Wars: Why does it seem that every soldier killed in Iraq or Afghanistan is my age or younger?

These are just a few of the questions I would like answered.
